PARTNERSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES
|
ICR
is committed to working in partnership with diverse bodies within
the community, voluntary, academic and statutory sector as part
of its research method and practice.
To achieve effective partnerships the organisation aims to expand
the range of its working practices by developing a network of local
and international collaborative relationships with both individuals
and organisations.
ICR also aims to increase its relevance to the local community by
developing research projects that draw upon ideas from, or in collaboration
with, members of the board, local community organisations and international
stakeholders. See for example our recent project working alongside
the North Belfast Community Research
Group.
To date ICR has been developing research proposals with the North
Belfast Partnership and with RADICAL,
a community based drugs working group; with the Belfast Interface
Project; and with various academic departments at both Queens
University of Belfast and the University of Ulster.
We have developed and carried out research projects/evaluations
in conjunction with the North and West Health and Social Services
Trust, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, the Northern Ireland
Voluntary Trust now known as The
Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and a local Community
Restorative Justice project.
ICR also welcomes contacts from groups and individuals who have
ideas or suggestions for future areas of research.

We are
also working with a range of organisations in Ghana, South Africa,
the Middle East and the Balkans with a view to developing collaborative
research activities.
-
We
have also worked closely with Dr Martin Melaugh, CAIN
website project manager. his website contains much of our material
and a wealth of other information about Northern Ireland.
-
We
work closely with Democratic
Dialogue, whose discussions on issues related to Northern
Ireland we participate in, and who publish regular bulletins on
Northern Ireland.
