New youth research published - 20th January

A new report published today by the Electoral Commission looking at young people's attitudes towards the democratic process in Northern Ireland has revealed that 41% of 16-24 year olds feel that politicians do not listen to their views. However, 67% said they would vote for a politician who listened and responded to their concerns. Drawing on research by the Institute for Conflict Research (ICR) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the report found that half of 16-24 year olds expressed an interest in politics but many are disengaged from mainstream politics.
